New to Kikusho? Start with the iPhone app. Already using it? Make sure your cards are synced, then add the connector.
Get your library ready
Download Kikusho for iPhone, sign in with Apple in the app, and let it sync. Use the same Apple account when connecting your assistant.
Add Kikusho to your assistant
Use the URL below in your assistant’s custom connector settings. Your AI app or workspace must support remote MCP connections.
Use OAuth when your assistant asks how to connect.
ChatGPT
Open the custom app or connector settings available to your account. Add the connector URL, choose OAuth, and use automatic client registration if asked. Developer mode may be required for a custom connection.
Claude
Open Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and enter the URL. Choose “Sign in now” and “Register automatically” if these options appear, then connect.
Codex
Add a remote MCP server named Kikusho in your MCP settings using the URL above, then sign in. If you use the command line:

Sign in with Apple, review the permissions, and allow access. Then try: “Find my Japanese cards about food” or “Create a card for 連携 and show me the draft.”
When you want to keep it, ask your assistant to save the card. Open Kikusho and sync to see it on your iPhone.

Do I need Kikusho Pro?
No. Free and Pro accounts can connect. Generating a draft with Kikusho uses the same generation allowance as the iPhone app. Saving cards composed by your assistant does not use that allowance. Your AI assistant’s own plan and limits still apply.
What can my assistant access?
With your permission, it can read synced card text, examples, notes, tags, learning preferences, account allowance, and study statistics. It can generate drafts and add new cards. This connector does not access photos or audio, edit or delete existing cards, or submit reviews.
Are drafts saved automatically?
No. Generated drafts remain separate from your library and expire after 24 hours. Ask your assistant to save the cards you want to keep. Cards written by an assistant are checked for structure; they have not received Kikusho’s separate language audit.
How do I disconnect?
Manage connected assistants to revoke access at any time. Disconnecting prevents future access; it does not remove information already shared in your assistant’s conversations. See our privacy policy for details.
My cards are missing. What should I do?
Open Kikusho on your iPhone, confirm you are signed in with the same Apple account, and let it sync. Cards stored only on your phone cannot be read by the connector. Search uses your selected learning language by default.
